Take my Life

But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You are the potter; And all we are the work of Your hand. Isaiah 64:8 I went with my girls and a friend to see the pottery in Seagrove. We got to watch a potter making several different things from a lump of clay, from a beautiful bowl, to a pie dish, to a vase. It seemed so easy! I could not help but think of the symbolism God uses in the Bible to teach us that we are His creation and He will use us and make us into whatever He fashions. It is not for us to say what our lives will be and how they will turn out. While watching the potter, he would start forming something and my mind would quickly imagine what it was going to be, only to find out he was making something totally different. It is like that in our lives. Sometimes we think we know what God is doing and what our lives will turn out to be like. Then something changes and our lives go in a different direction than we thought. Some times it is hard ...

Smile

Smile I rushed out the door into the world. Anything could happen. I may get in a car accident. I may trip and break my leg. They might not have everything I need at the store. They might not have toilet paper! I may get corona virus! I was going outside of my bubble into the scary world. I was going to the grocery store. It is not my favorite thing to do anyway but I used to enjoy it more because there were other humans there to talk to and to smile at. Now I am not so sure. Now all I see is masked men and women and children. It is not a happy sight. I may see someone I know and not recognize them. Everyone just looks so impersonal. It seems like another world where you can not recognize any one. I miss going out in public and seeing people’s expressions and smiles. I miss talking even small talk in the grocery isles. I miss the joy of seeing someone I know and getting a chance to chat and catch up on our families, children, grandchildren, parents, friends, while we stand in fron...

LIFE IS LIKE A YO-YO

Life is Like a Yo-yo Life is like a yo-yo. There are always circumstances and situations in life that cause us to go up and down. If we are controlled by our emotions or anything of the flesh then we will go up and down too.  Things in my life lately have been so up and down. In order to be an overcomer, I have to continually go to the Lord for His peace which passes all understanding. I can’t let the circumstances in my life rule me. I need to let the Spirit of God rule me. “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.” ( Col 3:15) Being thankful is another key. If we are thankful, then it changes our perspective away from our self and to the Lord. I have found that when things in the natural don’t look good, and I dwell on those things, I get depressed. But when I let my mind dwell on God’s goodness and have a thankful heart, God fills me with joy in the midst of the trial. He is so good all the time. God i...

Wisdom is Calling!!! What is Your Answer?

Know wisdom, perceive understanding. A wise man will hear and increase learning and a wise man will attain wise counsel. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Prov 1:7) Wisdom is calling you! She raises her voice. She cries out She speaks her words. Are you loving simplicity? Delighting in scorning? Hating knowledge? Turning from wisdom’s rebuke? Refusing counsel? Disregarding wisdom’s hand? Distaining her counsel? Having none of her rebukes?  Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, And be filled to the full with their own fancies. For the turning away of the simple will slay them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them;  But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil." (Prov 1:31-33) Wisdom is calling you! You have a choice. Will you choose to fear the Lord? Will you receive wisdom’s words? Treasure her co...
