Smile

Smile I rushed out the door into the world. Anything could happen. I may get in a car accident. I may trip and break my leg. They might not have everything I need at the store. They might not have toilet paper! I may get corona virus! I was going outside of my bubble into the scary world. I was going to the grocery store. It is not my favorite thing to do anyway but I used to enjoy it more because there were other humans there to talk to and to smile at. Now I am not so sure. Now all I see is masked men and women and children. It is not a happy sight. I may see someone I know and not recognize them. Everyone just looks so impersonal. It seems like another world where you can not recognize any one. I miss going out in public and seeing people’s expressions and smiles. I miss talking even small talk in the grocery isles. I miss the joy of seeing someone I know and getting a chance to chat and catch up on our families, children, grandchildren, parents, friends, while we stand in fron...

Josiah Nathan

June 14, 2014~ For Josiah 26 years ago today God blessed us with another boy. Josiah Nathan I can say, You continue to bring us joy. Precious mem'ries are here to stay. Forgetting times you did annoy. Your laughter, spunk and fun at play, When you were young was your employ. Learning the Word and how to pray Taught to believe and to enjoy. Salvation is real not here-say Delight in Jesus, He's your joy. The Word of God does not decay, It is your sword, it's your deploy. So hide it in your heart to stay, Where storms of life can not destroy. Not on my knee, but I still pray. For God to keep you from decoy. Keep walking in the narrow way, With God your Father, your His boy. Love, Mom

December 17, 2013

December 17, 2013 8 years ago today It was a day like any other The sun rises and sets on this father and mother The sky is blue and the rooster crows                                                         The air is crisp And no one knows That our boy, Micah goes To his Father above He knows To live in joy and peace above In heaven with the one called Love We miss him still and still we mourn He suffered 4 years of cancer in a storm He was strong through thin and thick Our hope deferred It made us sick We thought he’d live To tell his story here. But God took him home, Our son so dear. So through the pain And sorrow still We look to Christ And know He will Help us today To persevere Through pain of losing Our son so dear Our God is good He loves us m...

Priscilla!

Years ago when my daughter Priscilla Joy  was about 5 years old she came up to me and said,” Mommy, you know how some people are really sweet?” “Yes,” I said. “Well, I am spicy!” We got a good laugh out of that but thought about what an accurate description that was for her. Today is Priscilla’s 18 th birthday and she has been spicy ever since! I can not believe how fast time has gone. We have been so blessed with her life. I am so thankful for my spicy daughter Priscilla Joy,  who is filled with the Joy of the Lord which leaks out of her! She is a beautiful fragrance of Christ! I love you Priscilla! 2 Cor 2:14-17 14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading ...

The joy of Motherhood!

I am so thankful that the Lord has called me to the ministry of motherhood. It is a great privilege and a joy to train up, disciple, serve and love my children for the glory of God. I am so blessed to be the mother of nine wonderful children. Each one is so very special and such a unique individual miracle of God and blessing to me. I praise the Lord for Jesse, Josiah,Gabriel, Hannah, Priscilla, Elisabeth, Bethany, Lydia and Micah! I love you all am I am glad that God made you and blessed me to be your mother. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. God's works truly are marvelous! My soul knows that very well. Psalms 139 139:1 God's Perfect Knowledge of Man For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. O Lord, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know my sitting down and my rising up;You understand my thought afar off. 3 You comprehend my path and my lying down,And are acquainted with all my ways. 4 For there is not a word on my tongue,But behold, O Lord, You k...

Wisdom is Calling!!! What is Your Answer?

Know wisdom, perceive understanding. A wise man will hear and increase learning and a wise man will attain wise counsel. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Prov 1:7) Wisdom is calling you! She raises her voice. She cries out She speaks her words. Are you loving simplicity? Delighting in scorning? Hating knowledge? Turning from wisdom’s rebuke? Refusing counsel? Disregarding wisdom’s hand? Distaining her counsel? Having none of her rebukes?  Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, And be filled to the full with their own fancies. For the turning away of the simple will slay them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them;  But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil." (Prov 1:31-33) Wisdom is calling you! You have a choice. Will you choose to fear the Lord? Will you receive wisdom’s words? Treasure her co...

Joy and Sorrow

Joy and Sorrow From Lord of the Rings, book three. As Gandalf and Pippin gaze out over Gondor, on the eve of the battle. Are you angry with me, Gandalf?' he said, as their guide went out and closed the door. 'I did the best I could.' 'You did indeed!' said Gandalf laughing suddenly; and he came and stood beside Pippin, putting his arm about the hobbit's shoulders, and gazing out of the windows. Pippin glanced in some wonder at the face now close beside his own, for the sound of that laugh had been gay and merry. Yet in the wizard's face he saw at first only lines of care and sorrow; though as he looked more intently he perceived that under all there was a great joy: a fountain of mirth enough to set a kingdom laughing, were it to gush forth.' This is life as a Christian. We go through times of ...
